Tory comes to visit!

March means spring breakers are hitting up Vancouver! My sister's spring break was this week and she came to visit for a few days.

We took a walk to Jericho beach, a beach located in Kitsilano (a neighborhood close to UBC)
We went to Granville Island Market, a market located in Vancouver home to great food, art, and views. The market features a farmers' market, day vendors, and artists offering a variety of Vancouver local goods. In the 1970s, the island was considered an "industrial wasteland", and has now grown to become one of the most successful redevelopments of North America. Forest, mining, construction, and shipping sectors occupied the island and more than 12,000 workers arrived by streetcar everyday. After the great depression, various factory fires, and the decline of the use of ship transportation, the island industries were in serious decline. The city to decided to develop the area as a people friendly space with the use of markets, art exhibition, and housing. Today, the market was bustling with people enjoying the rare sunny Vancouver Saturday and fresh food.
